Merry Christmas

December is here and in my life, it’s been the month God has shown Himself strong on my behalf. Let me boast on the Lord for a minute: December 2006 - brand new luxury debt free vehicle December 2010 - new house December 2012 - surprise day of beauty sponsored by a group of ladies December 2015 - won a corporate global award at my job December 2017 - the man who’d become my husband let it be known he was pursuing me to marry me While God is not bound by time, the manifestations of His goodness are evidence to never count Him in ANY calendar year. Especially in 2020. I’ve seen comments about people being ready to hurry up and get to 2021.  We still have twenty-four more days for God’s glory to shine! Think about it: you’ve made it this far into a year that has had our heads turning and spinning very which way. That’s praiseworthy alone! Hallelujah! Proverbs 17:22 says “A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.” When we’ve had a tough year, it migh...

Surrender, Submit and Lay It All Down

Tonight, I babysat my seven month old niece. She was very sleepy, tired and literally fighting her sleep.  She was throwing a tantrum but I was determined to put her to bed. She cried through her bath. She cried after her diaper change. She cried when I tried to feed her. She cried as I held her and walked her around the house. Some of us are kicking and screaming, fighting the ver...

Purification of a Queen Part 2: Come Out From Among Them

In my last post I discussed the importance of having a good name and a good reputation. In this post, we’ll continue to look at some more specific points that helped shaped my life as God was transforming me to become more rooted and grounded in Him.                   Esther was a young lady, who later became queen because of her good name, her countenance and her reputation.  Prior to becoming queen, she was one of the young ladies gathered at the palace when the King’s command and decree went out to gather all the young virgins in Shushan.  These women were taken to the citadel, which is the palace complex built in the city for protection.  Once there, she was secluded and only surrounded by people who would prepare her and protect her as she began her preparations for being presented to the King. The ladies selected to help her d...
